Indianapolis, Indiana Violent Crimes Lawyer Allen Lidy answers:
There is so much evidence against me, why should I bother hiring an attorney?

Even if the state has mountains of evidence against a defendant, it is still a good idea to hire a lawyer. Having a lawyer will help ensure that the state's case against the defendant is solid. The attorney will likely be able to suppress or throw out some of the state's evidence, negotiate a reduced sentence with the prosecutor, and ensure the defendant's rights are protected throughout the entire process. Without an attorney present, fighting for the defendant's Constitutional rights, he or she will likely be much less successful in court, face a longer prison sentence and potentially have rights abused.
